• Springboard continue to rent the self-contained office to hold drop- ins and workshops. The new counselling rooms have made a big difference. Springboard used to rent a room at Stricklandgate House (additional cost incurred) for counselling • The Kendal Majorettes continue on a Thursday evening and a Saturday morning. Additions to the Youth Facilities
We now have 4 bike parking stands as part of a grant from SLDC. The whole building has now been fitted out with LED lights- the sports hall being the last phase. Electricity bills have gone down from £93.00 a month to £58.00. Read More

Thank you for your support
The management committee, members and user groups would like to take this opportunity to say a very big thank you to two local companies for their support of the Kendal Lads & Girls Club. Gilkes of Canal Head in the town donated £12,000 over three years to support the club while it built up rental income to become sustainable. Gardens and Skate Park Rebuilt
Thanks to funding from Cumbria Community Foundation Flood Recovery Fund and support from L & W Wilson from Endmoor who rebuilt the climbing frame and skate ramp after they were destroyed by last year’s flooding. The whole garden area is now looking good and has been enjoyed by many young people over the last few months. We are now looking for support to buy picnic tables to finish off the area and create a very useful outdoor space. Read More

Repairs to Skate Park
Kendal lads & Girls Club have been successful in gaining a grant of £8,402 from the Cumbria Community Foundation Flood Recovery Fund. This money will enable the club to repair the Skate Ramps, climbing frame and fencing. This work will be carried out over the next month ready for the summer programme. We ask our members and skaters to be patient and stay safe while the area is in such a rough and broken condition. Read More

Generous Donations
The Committee and Members of Kendal Lads & Girls Club would like to say a big THANK YOU to those groups who have donated funds supporting the club to purchase equipment and resources after the flooding that took place in December. YWCA Kendal £800, Epic Kids £487, High Sheriff £1,000 and Stage Coach Drama Group £150 The flooding had a big impact on the town, people’s homes and the club but with this generosity the Lads & Girls Club is getting back on its feet. Open for Business Again
The Kendal Lads & Girls Club is now up and running again after being flooded before Christmas. The building is still drying out but is clean, warm and welcoming for all who attend. The local groups are now running their clubs again and young people are once again enjoying the activities they provide. Read More

Flooding at Kendal Lads & Girls Club
The youth centre is currently closed due to damage caused by Storm Desmond which passed over the Lake District creating high winds heavy rain, the flooding of roads and rivers bursting their banks. The River Kent passes very close to the youth centre and on that Saturday night could not contain all the water pouring down from the hills and fields.
