Kendal Lads & Girls Club Installs New Solar Panels & Batteries

New Solar Panels and Batteries

The Kendal Lads & Girls Club have been able to install 28 solar panels and 4 batteries at the Centre. This has made a very big difference to the electric usage and utility costs.  A very big thanks for funding to enable this exciting project to go ahead.  Westmorland & Furness Council,    Baywind Energy Community Trust,   Cumbria Community Foundation, myLakland Community Fund. your support is very much appreciated.

The panels were commissioned in September last year, since then the panels have generated 4.05 MWh.  Which has enabled Centre, over the last six month to save £340 on the electricity bill.

The solar energy sold to the grid is 2.43 MWh which equates to £324.5 which will cover the costs of the standing charge and bring some income for the Centre which will help to cover running costs.

The Kendal Lads & Girls Clubs use of renewable energy has saved the production of 1.78 tonnes of CO2 which equates to 2 trees planted.

The Club is very proud to be running on renewable energy it is supporting the reduction of climate change and helping the Club to become more sustainable. This ensures the long term future of the Youth & Community Centre for the use of Clubs and Organisations in Kendal.
