Renewable Energy at the Kendal Lads & Girls Club

This autumn the Kendal Lads & Girls Club was fitted with 28 solar panels and 2 storage batteries.    The purchase of solar panels will provide free renewable electricity for use at the Centre during the day.  The purchase of batteries will mean the use of free renewable electricity during the evenings when the Centre is in use.  The installation of solar panels and batteries will also mean that electricity made can be sold to the grid when the building is not in use to bringing in funding towards the running costs of the youth Centre.

The trustee board feel this is a step forward becoming self-funding, supported by the income from rents.

The Kendal Lads & Girls Club board and users would like to thank; Baywind Energy Community Trust, Westmorland & Furness Council, Roselands Trust & CCF myLakeland Trust for the funding to enable the installation of the renewable energy equipment.
