Much needed boost for the Kendal Lads & Girls Club

Kendal Lads & Girls Club is today celebrating the news that it has received a £9,350.00 funding boost from SITA Trust to 'Install a New Boiler and to upgrade the Heating / Hot water System at the Kendal Lads & Girls Club'.  This grant and the donations from individuals and local businesses means that the finances are now in place and work will start on 16th Novemer 2015.

The current boiler is old, it is not very efficient and spare parts are becoming difficult to find. The current boiler is situated at one end of the building so struggles to get hot water around all extremities. The plan is to install two new boilers which will have zones to cover. This way we are not reliant on one boiler and the pipe work will be more effective in getting warmth to all areas.

Liz Cornford from the Kendal Lads & Girls Club management committee who is leading the project said the work to upgrade the heating and plumbing at the club is urgently needed especially as the winter months are coming.  This funding will enable us to ensure that all areas of the youth centre are warm and comfortable and that the kitchen and bathrooms have instant hot and cold water.  We are very grateful to the SITA Trust for supporting us to achieve a long awaited and much needed upgrade.
